Rose’s journey started when she visited Portugal in 2008. She fell madly in love with the UK brand Milton Lloyd and realised that there was a gap in the market for a product like this in South Africa. RMB Fragrances owned by Rose da Camara –
Rose on her product and passion
When I started using Milton Lloyd fragrances I was sold. I made it my mission to introduce this superior product to our South African consumers. I contacted Milton Lloyd and luckily, they had no distributor in South Africa.
Milton Lloyd was established in 1975 and its philosophy of “affordable luxury” remains the same.
I started off with a conservative budget. Today the brand is recognised by the South African consumer through hard work and dedication. My customer base includes retail clients, wholesalers and the brand are proudly visible in major chain stores including Pick n Pay. Our African footprint is gaining momentum, with an extremely strong presence in Zimbabwe, Swaziland, and Lesotho to name a few.
I then added the Spanish brand, Babaria a Vegan Olive range, which has been extremely well received in our market.
My sisters joined the company, and it is now a proudly family-owned business.

The origin of the name Rose means “famous type”. In mythology Rose symbolizes eternal love. Roses are the most loved fragrant flower. Might it be possible that someone is born to a name and somehow lives up to the name? If so, Rose Da Camara has most certainly done so.
