For years now the debate “to vaccinate or not to vaccinate” has been a topic of discussion. Even more so, as we are rapidly getting closer to the two-year anniversary of one of the biggest pandemics of all time. Questions are asked. The most common being “what to do when your baby is born? “What to do to protect the elderly and the vulnerable already battling a medical condition?”

Anti-Vaccination activists say;

  • There are many accounts of illness or deaths resulting from vaccinations.  Sudden infant deaths, autism, idiopathic disorders, cancer, and Aids are but some side effects.
  • The sometimes-difficult decision not to vaccinate is driven by love and parental instincts.
  • Turn to nature and use more natural methods. Using unnatural substances has derailed the functioning of our immune systems.
  • Vaccinations are responsible for the rise in social disorders like illiteracy and even violent acts.
  • Vaccinations are ineffective in preventing infectious disease. The decrease in infectious diseases is simply because of better sanitation.
  • Parents feel abandoned by the medical authorities.
  • Parents argue that Measles is a mild disease and children do not need this vaccination.

When looking for answers we turn to the internet for insight. This is not always a solution as there is so much information available that people become overwhelmed.

Most human beings have an instinctive desire to protect the ones they love and understandably so. What happens if we fight against science and history? In so doing, don’t we risk putting all our loved ones and the rest of humanity in harm’s way?

The flipside:

So what does Science and History say about this?

  • Autoimmune diseases have been around long before the first vaccine was manufactured. Anaphylactic shock occurs in only 1 in 3000 cases.
  •  The accounts of illness and even death caused by vaccinations like sudden infant deaths, autism, idiopathic disorders, cancer and Aids are not linked to vaccination as the sole culprit. There are other health issues and even medications involved in most of the reported cases investigated.
  • All vaccines get tested and like any other medicine may have side effects.
  • It is important that adverse effects be reported to your doctor.
  • Before there were vaccines, children died every day, lost limbs, suffered severe physical and mental damage because of dreaded diseases.
  • We immunise young children against a mild disease like measles, not because they might die, but because others may be pregnant, sometimes their mothers or teachers. We are protecting an unborn child from a possible birth defect because of you or your child being infected.
  • Vaccination is all about the bigger picture. It is about lowering the risk to all people sharing our planet.

Yes, 1 in 3000 people will have a negative reaction to a vaccine, but will you take the risk of your child dying of smallpox, of suffocating to death because of the whooping cough or even being responsible for other people dying?

 You decide……
