Teneighty is a creative service provider that specialises in producing video content for individuals and corporations. In a nutshell? They are content creators and creative collaborators.

Alex Kyriakides and Sebastian Jacobs are the owners of teneighty.tv, a production company that specialises in making and curating visual content for all mediums.

They completed their studies at RAU in 2003 and were employed with an agency for over 10 years. Their vast experience covers commercials and films. They were instrumental in producing the opening and closing ceremonies of the FIFA world Cup in 2010 – a highlight in their careers.

Because the industry was changing at such a rapid pace they decided a different approach was necessary and Teneighty.tv was born. They believed that, as entrepreneurs, they could offer a personal approach and give their clients a tailored experience at a fraction of the price compared with the traditional agency offering.

Although their offering suits B2B and B2C companies, the new H2H (Human to Human) orientation steered them away from thinking as an agency. Now as content creators and creative collaborators, leveraging off a pool of talented resources, they bring the best execution required for the specific delivery.

Definition:B2B means business to business. The term encompasses all companies that create products and services geared toward other businesses.

Definition: B2C  means business-to-consumer. The term refers to the process of selling products and services directly between a business and consumers who are the end-users of its products or services. Most companies that sell directly to consumers can be referred to as B2C companies

The saying ‘content is king’ remains true in these disruptive times. How do brands effectively forge a strong bond with their end consumers when content needs to be current and relevant, yet Covid regulations mean that traditional production techniques must now be compliant? Well that’s where teneighty.tv’s strategy and creative output shines bright.

Surviving the new normal… we want to know how they retain a positive outlook in the current situation.  They say by adapting – thinking of new ways to work that provides clients with the best possible content.

During lockdown Teneighty started packaging virtual internal-communications content by filming interviews with people online and packaging them into bite-size pieces. Companies distributed these internally to employees and so kept them abreast of company matters.  This worked well as it allowed people working remotely to keep up with changes.  It meant compromising on visual quality as typically the camera crew are in the same room as the interviewer. It actually helped prove the point that as long as the message is clear and concise, the content will be successfully absorbed.

Teneighty was awarded the production of the recent South African Music Awards, SAMA 26. The challenge lay in how to present content that typically existed as a 3-hour live extravaganza broadcast. This was further complicated by the need to comply with Covid regulations whilst filming. What could be filmed was also subject to restrictions. In the end they achieved an acclaimed outcome despite the punishing timeframe parameters. It was an effort worthy of Guinness Book of Records, or, maybe a Nobel Peace Prize for not killing themselves or each other. In summary:

  • 3,5 weeks production (from start to finish)
  • 6 shoot days
  • 13 music videos filmed
  • 10 days of post-production
  • 4 x 30 min episodes
  • 1 x 45 season finale (all broadcasted on Mzansi Magic channel 161)

This was the hardest and most pressurised project they have ever undertaken. Time constraints, short turnaround, Covid obstacles and working with a remote post-production crew. It seemed impossible, they had to pivot and prove that they could deliver.

Their cultivated good-relationships with a pool of creative professionals who care for their craft and their ability to maintain cheerful interactions made the job a little easier. Averaging 3 hours sleep a night but driven by a willingness and determination to reach seemingly unachievable goals, they made it all happen.  They successfully produced an unbelievably highpaced show that exceeded the client’s expectations, proving that, as a company they make everything possible.

Where to from here? They will keep doing what they do best – constantly adopting clever ways of working and being innovative in their approach. Who knows, they might be waiting on Mars to film Elon Musk arriving!

For them, the sky is the limit. Their philosophy is to stay grounded and believe in the process. #openforanybusiness #howcanwehelpyou
