- WHEN DID YOU DECIDE TO BECOME AN ACCOUNTANT?
In September 2008, I have decided to enrol at Unisa for my accounting degree, because business and finance always fascinated me. This resulted in me studying whilst the kids were doing homework. I completed my training contract as well as the required post-graduate diploma to become a Chartered Accountant. And now I am on the eve of writing my final exam. Four years ago, I have decided to enter the world of entrepreneurs and Conquer Financial Consultancy (Pty)Ltd saw the light.

Accountants assist businesses with bookkeeping, statutory compliance, and making sense of the numbers to make meaningful decisions.
- TELL US A BIT MORE ABOUT YOURSELF?
I have a passion to help business owners conquer the milestone that each business has. Being a business owner myself I understand the evolution of a business. To be bountiful in business order must be created in the chaos. Businesses need to be compliant with all the statutory requirements and then the business systems need to align with the goals.
Before my accountancy journey, I qualified as an Industrial engineer, sold insurance, worked in finance then became a farmer. All this experience enables me to provide a more holistic service to my clients.
- IS THERE STILL A FUTURE FOR YOUNG ACCOUNTANTS IN SA?
A lot is being written about Artificial Intelligence taking over the industry, but I believe human interaction will always be required.
The International Financial Reporting Standards provide guidance on how to do accounting, but it also involves judgments and AI cannot make judgment decisions.
