Die eerste maand na so brein besering is ń groot aanpassing vir jouself, gesin, familie en vriende omdat jy dadelik op sterk medikasie geplaas word.  Dan is dit nog nie die hele aanvaarding rondom die situasie en al die vrae nie.  Dis regtig ń pad wat jy moet stap elke dag, nuwe gevoelens en emosies maar gelukkig was my rots nog altyd my God.  Al het ek dae gekry wat ek soos ń mislukking gevoel het, het Hy my deur alles gedra.  My leuse (as jy dit so kan noem) was nog altyd “Walk by FAITH, not by SIGHT”.  Ek het geleer om te aanvaar vir wat vorentoe gaan gebeur en nie in die hede vas te kyk nie. Daar is ALTYD ń groter doel!!

Life

Life is a journey not destined to be walked alone. 

It’s a narrative which you want to be cast onto stone.

It’s a climb up a steep mountain trail,

Which after it’s been done… leaves you fragile and frail?

A glance at a beautiful winter’s sunset.

A place where your heart and soul have completely met.

Star gazing or looking at a meteor shower,

Makes you feel complete, fills the longing, and gives you a sense of power.

After trauma comes and kicks you off this incredible high horse,

You start to notice that you have drifted of your course. 

So many have come to be by your side 

But you have kept them at bay and let fear become your pride.

Footprints of loved ones and friends start to fade away

Because you let your dark thoughts take control over you night and day.

The snow of anxiety and depression cover up their tracks,

You’re left wondering what it is that you lack.

Smiling at everyone that passes you by with the need in your soul for a shout out, for a deep intense cry!

Scared that they will look into your “tell all “Eyes and see how sometimes you have tried to keep up with your inner lies.

BUT NEVER my darling, you must believe…

That there is anything in this cruel and ugly world you can’t achieve!

So, you get back up and take it day by day 

God will lead you every single step of the way. 

Eventually one day you start to look up at the dark sky

And suddenly you realize there is no longer needed to cry.

God has turned your darkness into light and with Him by your side you are ready for the battle and the fight!!
