Transformation and gender equality in tourism will deliver economic growth

Everyone who’s anyone in the hospitality sector already knew how important the domestic market is to the economy before the pandemic. But this reality was magnified many times for many in South Africa – in businesses, government, and individuals – by the pandemic. Telling stories of hope

I was born in KwaMashu township in Kwazulu-Natal as Mqondisi Ngubane, or “MQ.” I was named by my grandmother who envisioned me as a “Mqondisi,” an isiXhosa word meaning “director”. We get married and raise children. During our journey we are faced with storms – some more severe than others. by Pieter van Rensburg

Transitioning back into the world of a woman after spending years in a ‘Dudes’ rugged environment was not easy according to Marcel Cronje, the proud owner of Belle Vue Guesthouse in Hartbeespoort. ” I literally had to knock on my girlfriend’s doors to get advice on how to get dressed, match colours and apply make-up. I believe that a woman can do anything she puts her mind to. The world of a man is less complicated and more practical when it comes to aesthetics. It definitely helped me to be more independent.”
