So, you started a new business… What now?

It is always easy to start a business, but it takes commitment and planning to get it up and running and most importantly, on the map!

An Easy 5 Step Guide to get you on the Map!

Here is an easy 5 step guide to give you a little nudge in the right direction…

Grand Opening

What other amazing way, to not only engage in the community, but also to launch your amazing new business! A successful executed opening ensures that the local community has a reason to try something new. A Grand Opening is great publicity and an amazing opportunity to get to know people in your community!

Social Media

Social Media is your friend!

So, first things first. It would be a great idea to create a digital footprint by having your own website. Then get your Business listed on Google my Business as well as on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube!

Like the song from Bob Dylan, times they are a-changing’, and it is a good idea for you to stay on track with the changes and trends as they happen and embrace it!

Get out of your comfort zone. Post videos and Podcasts where you talk about your business, the ideas you have and what you are up to. People like engagement and your likes and traffic to your website and pages will run off the charts if you keep it fun and trendy!

Local Newspaper Articles

Let your local newspaper or community magazine do an article about your business. This not only promotes your business but helps with additional exposure that will also build credibility amongst the members of the community.

Also do advertisement with them if it falls within your budget. VISIBILITY!

Networking

THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR BUSINESS should be networking and being in business forums surrounded by business owners who are not only interested in building their own, but your business as well is always a good idea.

Networking does not only put you in a room full of opportunities, but it also gives the exciting possibility to exchange information and ideas with other like-minded professionals. Embrace these opportunities to learn from your competition and see how and where you can improve your own ideas and goals.

Be actively part of your community

Again, VISIBILITY

Donate your knowledge by doing a talk at the business forum or encourage your employees to volunteer their time. You could sponsor or help organize an event or even give a financial donation.

The options are endless.

Having your own business is so much fun and seeing it grow and evolve is even better. It is not always easy, but it is worth it and hopefully these few tips would help make it just a little bit less complicated.

Remember, success does not come from what you do occasionally, it comes from what you do consistently.
